Optical Fibre Network, UAE

The UAE Armed Forces, in their constant desire to improve their strength and capabilities as well as to serve other governmental institutions, established a modern and secure telecommuni¬cations system based on 6,000 km optical fibre land and 1,000 km multi fibre sea cable with SDH technology to complement its microwave network and its mobile communication installations. The network expands over the entire UAE territory and includes more than 500 nodes, the main as well as the back-up network management centre and the related peripheral equipment at the various military and governmental user sites. In the second stage, the network was upgraded to ATM IP/Ethernet via an SDH Next Generation Network.

Our Team was engaged in project development, survey, planning, engineering and preparation of tender documents, evaluation, supervision and commissioning as well as operational assistance.
